REMINDER
Your Take Action Challenge must be ready to present at the final, virtual Mandatory Spring meeting on April 7th!
Your final and mandatory meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 7th from 5-7pm via Zoom.
This is when you will present your Take Action Challenge (TAC)! You will have TWO minutes to present to the group. You will also be required to send in a two-minute video about your TAC. Ivana will be sending out more details about the presentation; video requirements! So exciting!
February’s monthly meeting with Libby Carstensen was inspiring, deep, creative and energy shifting. What a treat to all of us who experienced that meeting together!
Libby gave us incredible grief and resilience tools.
In alignment with that, this newsletter’s focus is on mindfulness. This topic is deeply important to people of all ages. Did you know that students who meditate or practice mindfulness experience LESS anxiety and MORE self-confidence, increased attention span, higher emotional intelligence, and enhanced creativity?
Incorporate these mindfulness practices into your day to transform your life!
- Put 5 minutes of meditation and yoga on your daily schedule. Practice easy yoga poses in the morning, and meditation at the end of the day. An easy meditation: take 10 slow breaths inhaling through the nose, then exhaling through the mouth. Inhale to a count of 4, pause, then exhale to a count of 4, pause, repeat.
- Take a mindful walk around school, your backyard, wherever. Silently tap into all of your senses. Stop to look at pebbles or listen to the sound of leaves blowing in the breeze. Then, at the end of the walk, write down at least one observation. Think about how you walk by these things every day, and rarely pause to take them in.
- Follow Libby Carstensen on Instagram and do one of her Rise + Radiate classes!
- Take a study break and try this Meditation for Learning by Yoga with Adriene to refresh your brain.
It is important to take breaks when you’re studying/doing schoolwork. This session can be experienced in under 15 minutes and is an opportunity for you to carve out a little time for you. Reset your brain and body!
P.S. Adriene has amazing free yoga classes and guided meditations on her YouTube channel. Karina (Pangea’s US Programs Coordinator and yoga teacher) highly recommends!
