Being asked to serve as an Ambassador to The Pangea Network is truly humbling for me. I spend the majority of my time writing make-believe scenarios and creating goofy fictional characters, so it is very gratifying to be a part an organization that is doing so much real good in the world.
Since becoming involved with The Pangea Network, I sometimes find myself wondering what it would be like if I could not express myself through creative writing and performance. What a dark world that would be! But thankfully, that’s not the case. Every day, I’m grateful for the opportunity to make a living doing what I love. And honestly, I wouldn’t be where I am today if I wasn’t given the gift of an education, and the freedom to be creative. But I realize that many in this world are not as lucky.
The educational opportunities that Pangea provides to the individuals within its network are vast. Through a variety of educational programs, Kenyan women and children from the poorest communities and the largest slums are finding their voice, gaining independence and giving back to each other and their community every day. And young girls in the US are learning to be global citizens and gaining the skills and confidence they need to be the change-makers of the future.
Empowering individuals through education can change the world. I am so proud of everything Pangea has done over the last 10+ years, and very excited about what’s ahead. If you are reading this letter, then someone taught you to read – an amazing blessing we sometimes take for granted. So please give back, pay it forward and consider donating to The Pangea Network so that more of these letters can be written and read, and more lives can be empowered.
Love,
Will Forte
