Tell us about yourself
I am a business woman who deals in sale of cleaning detergents in Mombasa County. I am also a mother of two children, one having completed school and the other in Class 4.
What are you most proud of?
I am proud of the fact that my business is doing well and able to cater for my children’s school fees. The ability to have my own money to spend is also a thing to celebrate since I feel liberated from being dependent on other people.
What is the most important lesson you’ve learned with The Pangea Network?
I now know a lot about looking for good business ideas that are favorable. Initially, I used to sell snacks such as cold ice (coolies) to school children as well as second hand clothes. After a while, I decided to start selling detergent to the nearby institutions such as churches and schools since there was a demand for it. I have been able to maintain my customers because I do not compromise on the quality of the soap I sell to them. I am glad that my business has picked up and is doing well.
