October Kenyan Student of the Month

Daisy Gloria Akinyi

Age 22

Where do you go to school?

Kenyatta University

What is your favorite subject in school and what do you want to do when you graduate?

My favorite units are Electoral Law and East African Regional Law. First, because the classes are usually interactive and it is about issues that we tackle every day and are in the news. For Electoral Law, it was fun learning about how elections are conducted and everything surrounding it especially since we are close to 2022 and talks of the elections have begun. East African Regional Law is a favorite because just learning of the cooperation of the East African countries for a common goal is interesting. After my graduation, I would like to join the Kenya School of Law and later work at ICEA Lion Group. It has been my dream workplace since Primary School.

What are you most proud of?

I am proud of the lady I am becoming, committed, caring, and focused and most of all God fearing.

What skills have you learned during the COVID-19 pandemic?

I have learnt crocheting through YouTube videos and other various sites. I have made quite a number of pieces just to practice the skill.

How has COVID-19 Pandemic affected you as a student?

As a student, Covid-19 has affected me by delaying my judicial attachment since the courts were closed for some time. Due to the current situation, I have been forced to adapt to virtual learning and physical learning which at times is hard to adjust from one mode of study to another.

What is your favorite thing about being in The Pangea Network?

My favourite thing about Pangea Network is the care and love that they show us. All the time they call us just to ask how we are doing. Always checking on us and our studies. The concern that they show in our academics and other aspects of our lives.
