Pangea and its programs are continuing to grow!
This February, our Pangea team is excited to announce that we are beginning the Young Women’s Leadership Challenge (YWLC), part of our Youth Network, in Kenya. This adds yet another life-changing expansion to our programs. YWLC has already been active for 3 years and counting in Texas and now has a strong alumni network of leaders across the country. Now, the program will begin yearly programs in Kenya.
Pangea trainers will be working with a group of motivated young women (ages 16-24 years old) who are in trade school in western Kenya. They will be educated in personal development, financial literacy, leadership, community service and self-esteem and body image, just like in Texas. The YWLC women will also take part in the ‘Challenge’ and will be tasked with making a difference in their communities as part of our alumni network. We hope to create a peer-to-peer relationship with our Rice University camp students and create cross-cultural bonds between young change-makers in Texas and Kenya.
The young women who will be joining YWLC this year are working diligently to become proficient in their trades (electricians, plumbers, and hairdressers).
Help us grow YWLC Kenya!
