It was an incredible evening as we celebrated our tenth year of operation empowering and educating women and youth based in the United States and Kenya. Taking place at Robard’s Steakhouse in The Woodlands, our event featured an “Out of Africa” theme with African drummers, a silent and live auction, and a Maasai Market featuring handmade crafts from women we work with in Kenya.

Former SNL cast member and Emmy nominee, Will Forte, served as our Pangea ambassador, special guest and host for our event. He made for an extremely exciting night and had the entire audience in stitches. Additionally we had two of our staff from Kenya in attendance to talk about our programs and successes in international development.
Anadarko, a Premier Oil and Gas E&P Company, was in attendance as they were involved in supporting our programs with the help of participating in both live and silent auctions in addition to purchasing a table as a donation at the event. Julie Stuble, an Anadarko team member, has been active with The Pangea Network since 2014 and was an inspirational speaker to the girls in the Young Women’s Leadership Challenge (YWLC). Other team members in attendance from Anadarko included Larry Abston, Erin Moore, Inkar Imanbaeva and Anuarbek Imanbaeva.

“Over the past decade, The Pangea Network has graduated over 700 women from our co-operatives
program, which gives Kenyan women the knowledge and support system they need to rise above the
world’s most challenging circumstances,” said Nicole Minor, Executive Director of The Pangea Network.
“On top of our work with women in Africa, we are proud to celebrate the many young people who’ve
benefited from our Youth Leadership programs in Kenya and the Houston area.”

Overall, $132,542 was raised at the event. Funds will benefit our organization’s mission to empower motivated individuals in Kenya and the United States with the knowledge, skills and an ongoing network of support in order to achieve their dreams and make positive, life-changing contributions in the communities where they live.
