Tell us about yourself
I am a 32-year-old business woman, selling fruits and vegetables — tomatoes, pears, plantains, spinach and more in Mukuru area of Nairobi. I started at Pangea when I was 22 years old and have been a part of the program for 10 years. I am also a mother of two children.
What are you most proud of?
The fact that through my own efforts I have been able to become more financially stable and even acquire property. Before, I really didn’t have something I could call my own, like a house or livestock, but through Pangea I’ve come to buy my own place, I have a piece of land a plot I can say: this is mine!
What is the most important lesson you’ve learned with The Pangea Network?
The Pangea Network has enabled me to not only improve my knowledge in various areas, but has also furnished me with much needed advice. In addition to the business knowledge and skills in book keeping and business management, I also gained knowledge in First Aid and if the situation demanded, I could use the skill to save someone’s life.
